I've put 2,000 miles on this bike in under ten months, and I still love it. It's ideal for riders who want to ride comfortably and quickly over long rides - in my case 30-60 mile rides. The SRAM shifter was new to me and took a bit of work to get used to but is easy now. It's a great-looking bike that inspires me to ride.

This is my 3rd roadie. I've owned the Apex Compact for 10 months and have over 2000 miles. Not a lot for some but I look forward to every ride. Apex Compact is a great system. I was looking at another triplet. But my reading and shop explained the gearing ratio between a 105 and the Compact. As an older rider (64), I need the greater middle range for hills. I found it with this bike. Handles descents very well and likes speed. Well balanced. Very forgiving on washboard roads and hard pack gravel. Stiff when needed. Zertz inserts even out the bumps. DT Swiss rims are ok. I'm not too concerned with lightweight rims. I recommend switching out the tires after about 1000 mi. Solid feeling and not noisy.

                Comments:

This is a great bike that offers a comfortable yet spirited ride. Having previously ridden a Tarmac I can say that performance wise the Roubaix feels the same. The only difference is in the comfort level which is much better on the Roubaix. I had always ridden Shimano groups but I wanted to try SRAM. Although Apex is at the bottom of the SRAM road line I feel that it is comparable to 105. I really like the double tap shifting and not having to swing the whole lever like Shimano. My only complaint is the lack of front derailleur trim while in the small ring but that is a very minor issue. I wasn't a fan of the Avatar saddle as it was a but too cushy for me so I replaced it with the Romin Expert. The wheels are pretty heavy but they seem to be bomb proof and are holding up very well. Great bike with a great ride.

I've had the Roubaix Apex Elite for about two months and I'm totally thrilled with it. The ride is super smooth, but very crisp and responsive. Was considering a triple, but so glad I went with the wide-range Sram Apex on this bike. I've owned a Specialized mountain bike for 15 years, and various road bikes, but this bike is an absolute joy to ride.

I was amazed how this bike absorbs the bumps and yet is still very responsive. My previous bike was more for racing and had a very stiff ride. A ride over 20 miles or so became too punishing. I can now ride between 20 and 30 miles without a problem. The saddle is also very comfortable.

I just up graded from a Secteur Sport after three weeks of riding a road bike and OMG what a difference. As soon as you sit on this bike the road just melts away. My first ride was a 25 miler and i wanted to continue further. The carbon frame just absorbs the road and the Sram shifters make inclines inexistent. If you are in the market for a road bike this is the one.
